Dogs at Panboola

Dogs on a lead are permitted within certain areas at Panboola. Signage within Panboola inform users of the areas where dogs are welcome on a lead, and where dogs aren't allowed. As a general rule the areas beyond gates are sensitive conservation areas and dogs are not allowed

In areas where dogs are allowed, dog walkers are kindly asked to respect our environment by:

  • use the paths

  • keeping their dog on a lead at all times

  • cleaning up after their dog

Why are some area off-limits to dogs?

  • Dogs can damage sensitive habitat and threaten the wildlife that Panboola protects.

  • Birds and other animals have keen senses of sight, smell and hearing, they think dogs - even the friendliest ones - as predators.

  • people see more wildlife and get closer to it in areas where dogs are not allowed.
